The Bicycles Etc Management Team has a combined 40 years of experience in the bicycle industry. We have dedicated ourselves to promoting cycling because we firmly believe that riding a bike can have a positive impact in anyone's life.
Our owner, John Price grew up in the Old Town Historic District of Downtown Huntsville, not far from our current location. At that time few families with children were living in the area and John longed to be in the neighborhoods where all the other kids lived. A bicycle proved to be a natural fit and a great way to begin those adventures that all kids crave. After graduating from Auburn, John began a lifetime of seeking adventure on a bike, first by riding his touring bike from Amsterdam to Paris and later from Nashville Tn to Natchez Ms. As his focus changed from touring to mountain biking and road biking, his sense of adventure never wavered. From British Columbia to the Colorado Rockies, the Big Island of Hawaii to Italy, John takes his mountain bike every where a promising trail can be found. He's still finds time for some great road biking, having climbed Mt. Ventoux and L'Alpe de Huez in France. His favorite local road ride is the Cherohala Skyway in Western TN/Eastern NC.
Through it all, John has believed that everyone should and has dedicated his career to helping people find their own path on a bike. After more than twenty years in the bike business, he's still a believer. Now, John volunteers his time helping others learn cycling skills through the local NICA high School Mountain bike racing team. He an IMBA certified Level 1 Coach and a NICA Certified Head Coach. He also has Wilderness First Aid Certification.
Service manager, Brooke Pate spent his early riding years in the beauty of east Tennessee taking his bike down ancient logging roads. High school and college saw an emphasis on competitive swimming that carried him to the University of Tennessee. After school, Brooke began mountainbiking and also a storied career as Huntsville's most successful swim coach. He soon found his way to Bicycles Etc. and began working as a mechanic. His experience helping young and old alike reach their competitive goals can definitely benefit you in reaching your fitness goals.
